In this article, we’re gonna see how you can play a youtube video in the background. We will see how you can do that on both android and ios. First, let’s do it on android so let’s take an android phone then go to google chrome and search for youtube.com and Now play any video you want.

After that click on the three dots and select desktop site. Then the video will be played in the desktop view. Now if you swipe down the screen you can see that the video is playing in the background and here you can pause or play the video also if you lock the screen the video will be played in the background.

Next, let’s do it on an ios phone. Let’s take the phone and go to google chrome and search for youtube.com and play any video you want after that click on the three dots and select desktop site. Then the video will be played in the desktop view then go back now.

If you swipe down the screen you can see that the video has been loaded in the media controls which you can control the video and also if you lock the screen the video will be played in the background. So that’s it, guys. This is how you can play the youtube video in the background.
